Invisible braces and other similar teeth straightening solutions are very popular as they are easy to use, comfortable to wear and look very subtle, so won’t make you feel self-conscious the way traditional braces might. At Dental Excellence, we see many patients from London and the South-East who struggle with misalignment of the teeth, or mild to moderate overbites or underbites.
Our teeth continue to move and shift throughout our lifetimes, so whether or not you’ve had orthodontic treatment in the past, invisible braces such as Invisalign and similar teeth straightening solutions can be an excellent way to get back confidence in your smile. At Dental Excellence, we utilise state-of-the-art aligners to help make your journey to a new smile as simple and comfortable as possible. Our ground-breaking approach also requires fewer appointments than some other treatments, which is ideal for our London patients.
Same-Day Smile treatments are a fantastic option as you can get a beautiful, renewed smile in just one appointment at our Liverpool or Chelsea dental clinics. Our Same-Day Smile treatments generally consist of composite edge bonding or composite veneer treatments, which can be used to whiten and reshape the teeth, as well as create the illusion of straighter teeth and correct the appearance of minor misalignments.
When you visit our state-of-the-art smile centre, our dental team will be on hand straight away to put you at ease. Composite veneers and composite edge bonding treatments are slightly different from traditional porcelain veneers, as they are created and applied chairside by your dentist. The composite, which is a tooth-coloured material (the same kind of material that is used in classic fillings) that is matched expertly to your natural and desired tooth shade, is applied in very thin layers to the surface of the tooth. Then, your dentist will carefully sculpt and mould the composite in your mouth to achieve a beautiful, natural-looking smile that perfectly suits you.
Composite veneers generally cover the full tooth and are a fantastic option for whitening teeth while also smoothing the surface and correcting the appearance of misalignments. Composite edge bonding, on the other hand, generally only covers the edges of the teeth and can be used to smooth rough or uneven edges, cover wear and enamel damage, or to fill in a chipped tooth. This is a less intensive and very natural-looking option if you want to enhance your natural smile quickly, comfortably and without the need for repeat treatments. Both composite veneers and composite edge bonding treatments can be carried out in one day at our Liverpool or Chelsea smile makeover centres, giving you a brand-new smile in a quick, comfortable and hassle-free treatment.
Porcelain veneers are a slightly more intensive treatment than composite veneers or composite edge bonding, but offer patients fantastic, long-term results that fit perfectly with your own natural teeth. Porcelain veneers are a very thin layer of medical-grade porcelain which is crafted to fit perfectly and seamlessly over the surface of your natural tooth or teeth. Veneers are perfect for patients who want a long-term solution to stained or discoloured teeth, uneven edges or chipped teeth and the appearance of squint or misaligned teeth. After your initial appointments to mould and fit them, porcelain veneers require very little maintenance and will last for 10 to 15 years plus if well taken care of.
Unlike composite treatments, which can be carried out in one day, porcelain veneers take a few different appointments, as our lab team needs time to create your bespoke veneers. In your first appointment, we’ll take a variety of scans and moulds to allow us to create a highly accurate 3D model of your tooth or teeth. Then, this is passed onto our lab team, who artfully create every single one of our porcelain veneers in-house. We’ll also prep the teeth for veneers and give you temporary veneers to keep your teeth safe and healthy between appointments. During this appointment, we’ll carefully remove some of the enamel on the surface of the tooth to help ensure that the veneers bond to your natural teeth properly before fitting your veneers. Once your veneers are ready, you’ll come in for another appointment where the permanent porcelain veneers are fitted.
Once fitted, porcelain veneers should last you at least 10 to 15 years and can be looked after in the same way as your natural teeth - you don’t need any extra products or regimes. Porcelain veneers are also resistant to staining like your natural teeth or composite veneers, meaning that your smile will stay shiny and white for as long as you have them.
Dental implants are an in-depth, restorative dentistry treatment that can be used to replace missing teeth or teeth that need to be removed. They can be used on both the upper and lower teeth, and you can have just one or two implants or an "all on 4" full set of implant-supported teeth, depending on the condition of your teeth, your age and your needs. Dental implant treatment requires a few separate appointments to ensure your teeth are adapting properly and to prevent any issues in the future with your remaining natural teeth.
Dental implants are a fixed solution to replace missing teeth and consist of small titanium screws which are placed - or implanted - into the gum where the root of your natural tooth would be. Then, over around a month, the screws actually fuse with the bones of the jaw to anchor them in place and give your dentist a strong foundation to safely attach replacement teeth without damaging or disrupting your existing natural teeth.
There is a period of time between when the implants are first fitted and when permanent crowns or replacement teeth are fitted, which is usually around three to six months, though this can vary quite a lot depending on your teeth, the number of implants you have fitted and a whole host of other factors your dentist will be able to talk you through. This period of time can be frustrating for patients, though you’ll be given temporary tooth replacements to help make sure you can smile with confidence even while you wait for your body to adapt to the implants. However, it is very important to leave the implants time to integrate, as it will prevent any issues caused by the movement of your teeth over time, which could mean more dental work in the future.
Once your implants have had time to settle, we can fit permanent replacement teeth to give you a truly beautiful and completely bespoke smile that will last you for decades to come. Our clinical team includes some of the UK’s top dentists and specialist implantologists, so you can feel confident that you’re in good hands with Dental Excellence. As well as incredible technical skill, our dentists are also very adept at explaining their treatment plans and putting our patients at ease throughout their journey with us, which is why so many of our London-based patients choose Dental Excellence.
There are a few different treatment options available in modern dentistry to help replace missing teeth, each with their own advantages and disadvantages. Missing teeth are very important to have treated as soon as possible, as they can lead to a whole host of other dental problems, such as:
Dentures are one of the most common and well-known tooth replacements. Dentures are very popular as they don’t require a lot of invasive dental work, unlike a treatment such as dental implants. This also means they are less expensive, as they require less specialist time. Dentures can be created from acrylic, nylon or metal and fit over the gums to replace missing teeth. They come in both complete sets, which replace all of your teeth, or partial sets which replace only one tooth or a few different teeth. They need to be replaced after five to seven years as your mouth changes shape and usually need particular care, which your dentist can show you.
Dental bridges are another common method of tooth replacement and are often used to fill gaps with two healthy teeth on either side. Dental bridges involve placing a replacement tooth which is bonded to the teeth on either side (which can be done in several different ways, depending on the condition of your surrounding teeth as well as personal preference). Dental bridges can blend in perfectly with your natural teeth and don’t require separate maintenance from the rest of your teeth. Dental bridges to replace missing teeth can last from around eight to fifteen years, depending on the type of bridge and the condition of the surrounding teeth.
At Dental Excellence, we understand that every patient is different and adapt our care plans based on your individual circumstances. However, when it comes to replacing missing teeth, dental implants are often a very good option as they are fixed and long-lasting compared to bridges and dentures which need to be replaced more often. Dental implants also blend in with your natural teeth very effectively, so you don’t have to worry about your smile looking fake or unnatural, making them the first choice of many of our patients.
Your dentist will be able to recommend the right treatment or treatments for you based on your dental health, your goals and your lifestyle in your consultation. No matter what kind of treatment you and your dentist agree on, you can feel confident that you’re in experienced hands with our team. As well as nationally recognised dentists, we also have specialist implantologists in our team to ensure that your tooth replacement journey is smooth, comfortable and gives you the results you’re looking for.
At Dental Excellence, we are proud to truly be at the forefront of dentistry today. We believe that modern dentistry shouldn’t be associated with fear and discomfort, but with relaxation, luxury and comfort. We are leading the way in the industry by always staying ahead of new technologies in our field, striving for continuous professional development among our team and offering a unique approach to dentistry that our patients notice straight away. From the luxury surroundings and décor in our Liverpool and Chelsea centres to the attitude of our clinical team and their commitment to a best-in-class quality of care, there’s a reason patients from across the UK and Ireland choose Dental Excellence.
Our Smile Makeover Centre:
We know that while the results you see are key, the experience you have in our facility is also such an important part of your treatment journey, which is why we’ve taken the time to create an environment that is as beautiful as it is functional.
Decorated with bespoke Italian furnishings and tucked away from the chaos of city life, our centre offers patients space to simply relax before, during and after their treatment. Our treatment rooms have been designed with your experience in mind, with TV screens to help you switch off during your treatment, for example. However, patient safety is always our highest priority, and our dental surgeries have been put together without compromising on this at all. Our treatment rooms are impeccably clean and sanitary to keep you safe, without feeling unwelcoming or uncomfortable. We also regularly invest in the latest dental technology to further improve the quality, safety and effectiveness of our treatments.
For a long time, dentistry has been viewed as cold, clinical and uncomfortable, but at Dental Excellence we know that this doesn’t have to be the case. Many of our patients choose cosmetic dentistry because they want to feel like the best and brightest version of themselves - something we believe in and strive for as a team. Your time in our clinic is a time to sit back, relax and feel amazing. This time is just for you, and we want you to be able to enjoy it.
Our Team
We are incredibly proud of the team at Dental Excellence, featuring some of the country’s most highly regarded dentists and dental specialists. All of our team members have undergone additional advanced or specialist training to ensure our patients are always getting the highest quality care possible, and we continue to encourage regular training and professional development among our dentists. As a team, we are incredibly passionate about our work and its potential to improve the lives of our patients both physically and emotionally, and this is clear in everything that we do.
It’s not just the technical expertise of our team that makes the journey worthwhile for so many of our patients from London and further afield - it’s their approach as well. At Dental Excellence, we see dentistry as a complete partnership between our dentists and patients, allowing us to create plans and results that make sense for every individual patient's needs and circumstances.
Our Treatment Plans:
When it comes to creating treatment plans for our patients, our dentists take the time to get to know you individually and understand your needs, lifestyle, goals and insecurities. This allows us to create treatment plans that make perfect sense for you and genuinely help you reach your goals. We offer several different Smile Solutions - however, we know that no two patients are the same, which is why we take a flexible approach to our work. This approach allows us to not just offer high-quality dental care, but to offer care that fits your needs and goals perfectly. Your journey with Dental Excellence is always a collaborative one with your dentist, and you’ll be treated with kindness, care and respect every single step of the way.
By taking the time to get to know you and understand your needs more deeply, we are also able to build relationships with our patients that last a lifetime while making sure your needs are met. We take the time to explain all of the different options that are available to you and give our professional opinion on the right course of action. We never recommend treatments that aren’t going to help you reach your goals or that are a risk to your safety as our patient.
As well as our treatment plans, each individual treatment is completely bespoke and tailored to you. We don’t want to create carbon copy smiles for our patients, as we understand that your smile suits you perfectly and that giving you the smile of your dreams doesn’t have to mean changing your face entirely. Your smile is completely unique and we believe your dental treatment should be too. That’s why we custom design all of our veneers, crowns and bonding treatments in our clinic. Our lab team creates every single tooth from scratch using accurate moulds and images of your natural teeth to create a subtle and beautiful change that gives you confidence in your smile.
We also welcome patients for consultations in our Dublin clinic, with all advanced treatment carried out at our Liverpool or Chelsea locations.
