  • Cosmetic Dentist in Liverpool

At Dental Excellence, we offer a range of treatments, including digital smile makeovers to dental implants and facial aesthetics. From using cutting-edge technology to creating bespoke treatments, we are at the forefront of change within the industry, creating a wonderful experience for our clients.

What cosmetic dentistry procedures are available?

There are a range of cosmetic dentistry procedures we offer at Dental Excellence. Each has its own benefits and can transform your smile instantly.

Same-Day Smile Makeover

At Dental Excellence, we use a range of whitening and cosmetic bonding technology in order to create your ideal, beautiful smile. The procedure is needle-free and you do not need to worry about preparing your teeth. We simply place the material directly into your existing teeth and mould it to the desired shape, length and width of your smile.

The treatment itself is very quick. All we need to get things started is to make an assessment of your current smile, which we carry out through a series of planning appointments at our Liverpool facility. You will need to provide us with a picture of the front of your mouth closed, then open, as well as provide an image of your mouth from below. This and a video of you showcasing your mouth by talking and smiling is all we need to get the ball rolling. Once the assessments and checks have been carried out, a treatment plan will be determined. Not only will this treatment improve your smile, we also improve the colour of your teeth, creating a gleaming white smile. To find out more, book your consultation today.

Digital Smile Makeover

Having damaged teeth or a smile you are unhappy with can leave you feeling embarrassed and impact your confidence and self esteem. Our digital smile makeover service means you create your perfect smile. Using cutting-edge technology, we create a digital copy of what your smile can be. This allows us to determine the treatments we need to make in order to make your ideal smile a reality. The digital copy allows us to be more accurate and predict the outcome of your procedure so there are no surprises.

The entire process is pain-free, and we take you through each step at your own pace, putting you at ease while we work on making sure you get the results you are looking for. For more information about digital smile makeovers, visit our Digital Smile Makeover page or book your free consultation on our website today.

Composite Bonding

Composite bonding is a procedure you can use to fix issues such as discoloured teeth, teeth gaps and chipped teeth. If your teeth are uneven, composite bonding can also be used to rectify this. The procedure isn’t invasive and relatively pain-free. The aim of composite bonding is to make your teeth look fresh and brand new, altering your smile completely. The bonds used are the same as the natural colour of your teeth to make the whole look as natural as possible.

As far as cosmetic dentistry procedures are concerned, composite bonding is effective, painless and can elevate the appearance of your mouth; however, there are some issues that cannot be fixed by such a procedure. At Dental Excellence, we go into this in more detail and answer any questions you may have in our first meeting. During this meeting, we find out exactly what you are wanting to achieve and the best route to get there.

Facial Aesthetic Treatments

Facial Aesthetic Treatments are non-surgical treatments that help enhance your facial appearance. These treatments give clients the confidence boost they are looking for, giving their faces a glow, impacting the way they feel about themselves.

The types of facial aesthetic treatments we are talking about include anti-ageing injections (also known as Botox), which can help give the appearance of younger-looking skin. These injections are usually placed around the eye and forehead areas, tightening the muscles and reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Dermal fillers are another form of facial aesthetic treatment. Dermal fillers replenish the hyaluronic acid in the skin adding volume and rejuvenating the skin. The fillers are temporary; however, you can expect them to last at least nine months, making them a good option if you are looking for a non-surgical procedure and looking for something that is not 100% permanent.

At Dental Excellence, we have made it our mission to make this treatment as enjoyable as possible. During your time with us, we provide you with a luxurious experience with our warm and welcoming staff always on hand to make sure you are kept happy and comfortable. All our facial aesthetic treatments are carried out in our Liverpool facility. For more details and to book your consultation please call us on 0151 729 0000.

Veneers

At Dental Excellence, we offer both composite and porcelain veneers. At £345 per tooth, composite veneers are a less invasive way to cover your tooth. The veneer sits on the top of your existing tooth to help give it the shape you are looking for.

A porcelain veneer is £800 per tooth. However, they can last up to 30 years and are stronger in comparison to composite veneers. They are coloured to the natural shade of your teeth and are bonded to your teeth, changing their colour, shape and length. Porcelain veneers are resistant to stains, which means you don’t have to worry about the colour diminishing over time due to food and drink.

There are many reasons why you would opt to have veneers. They can be used to fix a range of issues such as a root canal treatment, chipped or broken teeth, and teeth that are misaligned, uneven or irregularly shaped.

Veneers allow you to transform your smile. At Dental Excellence, our veneers are designed personally by our lab team to ensure each one is exactly the way in which you want it. The process is straightforward and transparent. Veneers are one of the most popular forms of treatment we offer at our Liverpool facility.

Unsure if any of these treatments are for you? As part of our service package, we offer a  test-drive service where you are fitted with a temporary smile so you can see how you feel and experience your new smile before it becomes permanent.

Why would you choose to undergo a cosmetic dental procedure?

There are a variety of different reasons why one may choose to undergo a cosmetic dental procedure. The main one being it can help your self-esteem and confidence. A lot of the time, the way in which we see our teeth impacts the way we view ourselves. Making these tweaks using a painless cosmetic procedure can really boost your confidence and, in turn, quality of life.

Cosmetic dental procedures allow you to make the small tweaks to your teeth that bother you. This can include things such as contouring the teeth and reshaping a tooth to make all your teeth level giving you a cleaner smile. Cosmetic procedures are also less invasive than other dental procedures, minimising the risk that can come from surgery.

Many people opt to have a cosmetic dentistry procedure done based on their profession. For example, if you are in the public eye and in front of a camera regularly, you may want to get this procedure to enhance your appearance. Similarly, if you are a public speaker, do a lot of talks and work in a profession where you do a lot of business face to face with important clients, you may find you are more inclined to make the leap and undergo such procedures.

It is also quite common for people to book an appointment for a cosmetic dental procedure ahead of an event. Many brides and grooms undergo treatments before the big day to enable them to feel their best when the day comes. Similarly, many decide to do the procedure ahead of their graduation or ahead of life’s other big moments that are likely to be documented with pictures to be looked at and reminisced years later.

There are also general dental health-related reasons why people have cosmetic dental work done. For example, if you have discoloured teeth and have fillings in your mouth, procedures such as getting veneers added can go a long way in restoring your confidence.

Bad habits such as smoking or drinking too much tea can impact your teeth, making them yellow and generally discoloured. Whitening them or undergoing other cosmetic dental procedures can give you the drive to quit such habits.

Improving Your Smile With Cosmetic Dentistry Treatments

A big reason that people opt for cosmetic dental procedures is because they simply want to improve their smile. A lot of people are self conscious about their smile. Either their teeth are not white or the way the teeth are formed prevents them from creating the smile they want. In booking a consultation with Dental Excellence, either online or at our Liverpool facility, this can be remedied very quickly using procedures such as the Same-Day Smile Makeover and Digital Smile Makeovers, both of which we offer here at Dental Excellence in our Liverpool location. Treatments such as placing composite and porcelain veneers go a long way in improving someone's confidence in their smile.

What is the difference between cosmetic dental treatment and general dental treatment?

Whereas general dental treatments are created to prevent long-term dental issues, such as gum disease and tooth decay, cosmetic dental treatments are more aesthetic, focussing on enriching facial appearance - be it in the placement of the teeth or creating a beautiful smile. While cosmetic dentists do not carry out general dental treatments, you might find a general dentist will perform a range of cosmetic procedures.

Can anyone undergo a cosmetic dental procedure?

In theory, yes - anyone can undergo a cosmetic dental procedure. However, you might find certain restrictions are in place. For example, age. In most cases, for procedures such as dental implants, it is often recommended that patients be 18 or over. For other procedures, such as teeth whitening, most dentists prefer patients to be 14 or 16 years old.

Then there is the question of cost. While some cosmetic procedures can be done via the National Health Service, most cosmetic dentistry requires the work of professional private specialists, such as the team we have at Dental Excellence. Each procedure comes at varying prices, for example, a porcelain veneer costs you £800 per tooth whereas a composite veneer tooth sets you back £345. Other procedures range from £1,300 to £20,000. While this may seem expensive, it does come with additional benefits such as continual support, aftercare advice and a complete care team. The team includes lab technicians for treatments such as dental implants. You will also have a designated client manager who will be will be assisting you with all your needs during your time with us.

Can cosmetic dentistry replace missing teeth?

Yes, for those suffering from missing teeth, there’s nothing to worry about as we provide a range of cosmetic dental treatments

  • Dental implants
  • Composite bonding
  • Veneer treatments

Each one of our treatments has its own unique take on replacing your missing teeth. For instance, dental implants are usually the go-to for replacing missing teeth. This treatment is a lengthy process but the rewards make it a permanent solution. Composite bonding treatments are used to replace partially missing teeth. If you are looking for a more permanent solution than composite bonding, porcelain veneers or dental implants may be your option.

If you are unsure of which treatment is right for you, we can help. As part of your initial conversation, your dental team will discuss your goals, which will provide the best treatment plan to enable you to achieve them.

How do I get started with my treatment?

The first thing to do when considering a cosmetic dental treatment with Dental Excellence is to book a consultation. You can do this by filling out the form on our site. If you are sure which treatments you prefer, click the correct one for you. If you are not sure which one is for you, you can opt for the General Smile Consultation.

During the consultation, you can expect to undergo an assessment. This includes oral exams, clinical photographs and, depending on the type of treatment, additional X-rays. During this time, you will be able to devise a treatment plan and break down the full cost of the treatment with your assigned dental team.

Following the consultation, you can expect the treatment to begin within four to six weeks depending on the team's availability. If your treatment does not require foundation work, treatment can begin almost immediately pending availability.

How can I find the right dentist for my cosmetic dentistry treatment?

When seeking cosmetic dentistry treatment, you first must determine the sort of treatment you are considering so that you’re matched with the right dentist.

Once this has been ascertained, you can research the dentist's credentials. At Dental Excellence, you can find out information about our dental team here. This will not only confirm you are in safe hands and that our experts are fully qualified, but it also means you can put a name to the faces of your team before the treatment begins. At Dental Excellence, we are leaders within the dental industry, and we are constantly innovating and enhancing our dental practices and treatments - with us, you can rest assured your dental care is being handled by the best of the best.

As part of your research, it is also worth getting a feel for the facility. You will want to make sure the treatment will be taking place where you feel relaxed and at ease. At our luxury Liverpool facility, you can expect a five-star treatment complete with the feeling you have of entering a hotel. Our concierge service means you can travel from all across the UK without having to worry about booking any travel arrangements.

What dental problems can be fixed using cosmetic dental procedures?

Naturally, your teeth will experience wear and tear over the years. This is particularly true if you fail to look after them. This is where cosmetic dental procedures come into play. Our cosmetic dental team, including associate dentists and dental therapists, is able to fix a range of dental issues that can impact the appearance of your smile. These issues include:

  • Chipped and broken teeth - Not only do chipped and broken teeth look bad, but they can also be quite painful, which is why, in some cases, you may need additional dental treatments which do not fall under the category, of cosmetic dentistry. There are however cosmetic treatments which can be used including porcelain veneers and composite bonding.
  • Discoloured and stained teeth - Being exposed to the elements means teeth are susceptible to getting stained and discoloured. Your teeth could be stained and discoloured for a myriad of reasons, including regularly smoking and drinking. Tooth decay can also discolour your teeth. This is where cosmetic treatments, such as the Same-Day Smile Makeover and other teeth whitening treatments, come into play. You can find out more about our Same-Day Smile Makeover here.
  • Gaps between teeth - Treatments, such as composite bonding and porcelain veneers, are used to help reduce the gaps between your teeth. Composite bonding can be seen as the more affordable option, but porcelain veneers last longer. Your team will be able to determine the best treatment for you during your consultation.
  • Unevenly sized teeth - If you are worried about the impact that unevenly sized teeth can have on your smile, you can look into getting veneers. Dentists can also contour your teeth - for example, by using composite bonding techniques - to make sure the size of the teeth is even.
  • Crowded teeth - This is generally a problem that is resolved using braces; however, it can also be aided with the assistance of veneers in areas where the crowding is small. It is worth noting that cosmetic procedures, such as veneers and crowns, give the appearance of straightening your teeth by removing parts of the concerned teeth.
  • Decayed teeth - As well as fillings and crowns, you can use cosmetic dental treatments to help you deal with tooth decay and cavities. When dealing with tooth decay, the best course of action will depend on how severe the issue is. For example, how much it hurts, where it is hurting and the reason behind the decay. This is something our dental team can discuss with you during your initial consultation. You can book your consultation here.

Bite problems such as overbite, open bite and crossbite - You can use cosmetic dental treatments to help you with minor bite problems; however,d if the bite is quite severe, an orthodontist will have to step in to help you with the bite before you can consider any additional cosmetic dental treatments.

How long do cosmetic dental treatments last?

At Dental Excellence, we provide a wide range of cosmetic dental treatments - all of which vary in terms of how long they last. While there are no guarantees, you can take the below as a guideline to determine how long each type of treatment might last.

  • Teeth whitening treatments, including parts of our Same-Day Smile Makeover, can last anywhere between six months to a year.
  • Cosmetic bonding treatments can begin to wear at around the eight-year mark. However, if they are looked after correctly and you follow the aftercare advice, our dental service outlines that they could last up to 15 years.
  • Veneers can last up to 15 years.
  • Dental Implant treatments, which take a little bit longer and have to be carried out over multiple sessions, are worth the wait. At a minimum, you can expect dental implants to last for around 30 years.

If you are wanting to know about the longevity of each treatment, you can discuss this with an associate dentist or the dental therapist during your initial consultation.
